Prayer Quilt Ministry

The idea behind these prayer quilts is simple. A heavy thread is used to take stitches through the quilt layers, and the ends are left free to be tied with double knot. As each knot is tied, a silent prayer is said for someone in special need, who then receives the finished quilt. Many quilts have been distributed, each a special gift of love & prayer. Each for someone in special need of prayer.

The mission of the North Kirklees & Morley Circuit Prayer Quilt Ministry is to pray for those facing difficult situations such as illness or bereavement, and give them a tangible reminder of God's love and our prayers. Lap size quilts can be made on request, and on completion placed in Church during the Sunday morning worship.

Anyone present is welcome to tie the ties on the quilt and pray for the recipient. The individuals receiving a quilt may be church attendees, their friends or family.

To be part of the team does not require sewing skills. There are many non-sewing tasks required in the process of making a quilt.

If you would like to nominate someone, then please use the form under the picture on the right.
