Are you able to work alongside churches in the Circuit to develop mission and ministry?
Do you have the skills to empower others to enable projects to flourish and grow?
North Kirklees & Morley Circuit are seeking two Circuit Mission and Outreach Workers, to work closely with their church communities, to promote, encourage, and enable effective mission and evangelism and to identify and deliver outreach activities on behalf of the churches and the Circuit. These are new posts, based across 8 churches in the North section (Churwell, Morley, Tingley, West Ardsley, Birkenshaw & East Bierley, Birstall, Drighlington, and Gomersal) and 7 churches in the South section (Cleckheaton, St. Andrew's Liversedge, Westborough, Batley Central, Longcauseway LEP, St. Andrew's Mirfield and Trinity Mirfield).
The successful candidates will take the initiative on leading and developing discipleship opportunities for a wide range of people, working in partnership with ministerial colleagues and lay volunteers. We are seeking a part time Circuit Safeguarding Officer to lead on the provision of a professional and effective safeguarding service across the Bradford North Methodist Circuit. This is a new post and the person appointed will administer and lead on the delivery of all aspects of safeguarding policy, practice, and record keeping. 20 hours per week, with core hours of 9:30 am to 12 noon on Tuesdays and one other morning in the Circuit Office. The remaining hours can be worked flexibly, Monday to Friday, from home or the Circuit Office, in agreement with the Line Manager. We are seeking a full time District Mission Enabler, who will participate in the development and oversight of mission and discipleship in the life of the District, including New Places for New People (NPNP).
The District Mission Enabler will work with churches and circuits to help them reflect on their mission and discipleship in context, while also sharing in the leadership of the District alongside lay and ordained colleagues as we establish mission priorities and invest in equipping churches and circuits. They will also accompany circuits as they discern and establish NPNPs. These are projects focused on forming new Christian communities for those not yet part of an existing church. This is an exciting opportunity which is open to both lay and those who are ordained in the Methodist Church. Applicants will need to have experience of enabling church growth, knowledge of the needs for a wide ecology of faith engagement, and of nurturing Christian communities. They will have skills in facilitation to accompany circuits and local churches in growth planning. We are seeking a Grant Funding Officer (Fundraiser) to support the churches and circuits of the Yorkshire West Methodist District in accessing grant funding to support our charitable aims, primarily for projects working towards reaching the Methodist Church's target of being Net Zero by 2030.
This is an exciting opportunity to support Methodist churches across the Yorkshire West District as they seek to adapt their buildings to meet the target of being Net Zero by 2030. You would work with and be supported by the Missional Property Enabler and the Climate Change Action Group. As well as Climate Change Projects, you would work in partnership with the District Grants Secretary to support churches and circuits in accessing grant funding for other projects. We are seeking a part time Property Officer to work as part of the Huddersfield Circuit Team. This is a new post and the person appointed will support the work of the Circuit by carrying out management and administrative duties relating to the various properties owned directly by the Circuit and supporting compliance in the governance of schedules, records, policies and advising in respect of projects that need to be undertaken for individual churches.
