Wharfedale & Aireborough Circuit are seeking a Missional Wellbeing Pioneer. This role is all about pioneering with others to prayerfully and bravely let God bring dreams to life!
Its aim is to work collaboratively with circuit colleagues and a Steering Group to develop and implement a New Place for New People (NPNP) which, from our initial listening, we believe will be shaped around supporting mental health and wellbeing in the community of Otley, West Yorkshire, particularly in relation to young people and their families. Key themes include empowerment, belonging, inclusion and support.

This project follows a circuit commitment to enable discipleship and evangelism in Otley at a time of transition, given the imminent sale of the Methodist Church building. This will allow new shoots of life to develop alongside the existing Methodist congregation in Otley, who will play a prayerful role in supporting the development of the NPNP.
Hours of Work: 35 hours per week, to be worked flexibly in agreement with your Line Manager, including some evenings and weekends. Initial Three Year Fixed Term Contract

Huddersfield Circuit are seeking two Circuit Pastoral and Community Workers to provide spiritual leadership and support within the church communities through leading worship ,offering pastoral care and engaging with local initiatives. Key responsibilities will include leading worship on four Sundays per quarter, providing emotional and spiritual support for church members, fostering ecumenical relationships and participating in community events. Additionally, the roles entail collaborating with other staff to liaise with bereaved families and lead funeral services across the Circuit, contributing to church programmes, and attending staff meetings when possible.
These are exciting opportunities which are open to both lay and those who are ordained in the Methodist Church. The successful candidates will work as part of the Circuit staff team.
Hours of Work: 17.5 hours per week (or 6 sessions for a minister), worked flexibly, Monday to Sunday, in agreement with your Line Manager, including some evenings and weekends. This will include leading worship on 4 Sundays per quarter.

The District are seeking a Children & Youth Ministry Co-ordinator and Wesley Way Development Worker. This an exciting role with two core elements:
Firstly, to support the churches and circuits of the Yorkshire West Methodist District to develop their ministry and mission with children, young people and young adults. Secondly, to oversee the Wesley Way programme across the Yorkshire West Methodist District and to develop the reach and possibilities of the programme.
Across the District, churches engage with children and young people in several ways from Worship to Pizza Ministry, School Assemblies to Youth Groups, Toddlers Groups to Brigades. These are facilitated by volunteers and lay employees. This role supports those undertaking this important work as they offer different ways to develop the faith formation of children, young people and young adults.
Wesley Way is a school's work programme which introduces primary school aged children (aimed at year 4) to John Wesley, the faith which inspired him and continues to inspire the people called Methodists today. Wesley Way has developed over the last two years and has been incredibly successful. There is huge potential to develop Wesley Way in more areas of the District and to develop additional activities for the faith formation of children.
Hours of Work: 1456 hours per year, (based on a 28 hour week over a 52 week year) with core hours worked on two 7.5 hour days per week (to be agreed) and non-core hours worked throughout the year to enable flexibility around Wesley Way delivery weeks. Initially a Two Year Fixed Term Contract.

Leeds South & West are seeking to appoint a full time Local Lay Pastor to support the mission and ministry of churches across the Leeds South & West Methodist Circuit. The Office of a Local Lay Pastor was launched by the Methodist Church in 2022. More information about the role is available here.
This is a new post and the person appointed will be required to provide preaching and worship, leading ministry, and pastoral oversight to the communities of Farsley Community Church, Headingley Methodist Church, Highfield Methodist Church and Hyde
Park Methodist Mission Church as part of the Circuit Team.
Hours of Work:35 hours per week worked flexibly between Sunday and Saturday, in agreement with your Line Manager, which will include some evening working. This will include working three Sundays out of every four. Three year fixed term contract.

North Kirklees and Morley Methodist Circuit are seeking to appoint an Outreach Development Worker to work at Batley Central Methodist Church. This is a new post and the ideal applicant will be experienced in community-based work including recruiting and working with volunteers and will be able to work alone and as part of a team.
Main Responsibilities:
Develop specific services to benefit the community.
Liaise with existing community groups and local charitable organisations to identify opportunities for the church premises to be used for the greater benefit of the community.
Develop and engage in appropriate partnerships between the church, other local services, and the community to align with the mission of the church.
Recruit and work with volunteers to support the work.
Support the Church Leadership Team and congregation to deliver the church's mission.
Create social media posts on platforms such as Facebook and Instagram that are relevant to the mission project and services provided.
Establish relationships with existing users of the church buildings and help the church develop and strengthen those relationships.
Hours of Work:16 hours per week, worked flexibly in agreement with the Line Manager, which will include some evening and weekend work. 3 Years Fixed Term Contract
